Pol Bury

Pol Bury, born in Haine-Saint-Pierre (Belgium) in the province of Hainaut, on April 26, 1922, and died in Paris on September 28, 2005, is a Belgian painter and sculptor.

Pol Bury practiced drawing, painting, sculpture, but also writing, creating jewelry, building fountains, and making several experimental short films.

He is considered as a major contemporary artist, recognized internationally, of the 20th century. It is above all its reliefs and sculptures that have given the artist his place in the history of art.

Master of slow movement, he masters time in his mobile creations, his fountains which release both something disturbing and a great serenity, amuse and enliven any space where water can play: city or countryside, historic park or space contemporary.

1922년 4월 26일 벨기에의 에이노 Hainaut, Haine-Saint-Pierre 에서 태어나 2005년 9월 28일 파리에서 사망 한 폴 뷰리 Pol Bury는 벨기에 출신 화가이자 조각가다.

Pol Bury는 그림, 조각뿐만 아니라 글쓰기, 보석 만들기, 분수 만들기 그리고 여러 실험적인 단편 영화 제작하기도 했다.

그는 20세기 미술사에서 세계적으로 인정받는 벨기에 출신의 예술가로 특히 부조와 키네틱조각작품에서 탁월한 재능을 평가받은 작가이다.

느린 움직임의 대가로서 그는 자신의 모바일 작품에서 시간개념을 잘 소화하고 있다. 특히 그가 많은 노력을 기울여왔던 분수작품은 물이 뿜어내는 다양한 소음과 물결이 의미하는 평온의 개념을 조화롭게 혼합하여 도시와 농촌의 상충된 개념을 잘 표현하고 있다. 특히 공학적인 메카니즘을 효과적으로 이용한 그의 분수조각은 수학적 면밀한 계산으로 만들어진 작품으로 작가의 무한한 상상력이 기술과 만나 이루어낸 결실이다.
