갤러리 508은 지난 40년간 독창적 건축가로 한국현대건축의 새로운 장을 개척한 건축가 승효상의 개인전 «건축스케치전 SOULSCAPE»을 개최한다.

이번 전시에 소개되는 건축가 승효상의 스케치는 지난 10년간 영성의 풍경을 담아 작업한 프로젝트들 중에서 선별한 것으로 구성되었다. 특별히 그의 내밀한 스케치북의 내용을 그대로 전시하는 형식이기에 그림들은 작지만 빈자의 미학으로 유명한 그의 건축적 사고의 과정을 읽을 수 있을것이다. 12개의 프로젝트는 종교나 죽음과 관련된 건축뿐 아니라 단독주택, 커뮤니티센터, 근린생활시설도 포함하고 있어, 우리들 일상의 건축에서도 영성의 진작을 꿈꾸는 건축가의 사유를 엿볼 수 있다.

Gallery 508 presents the solo exhibition «Architectural Sketches: SOULSCAPE» of Seung H-Sang, an inventive architect who pioneered a new chapter in South Korea's modern architecture for the past 40 years.

Architect Seung H-Sang's sketches in this exhibition are comrpised of selected works from his projects on SOULSCAPE that he worked on for the past 10 years.

In particular, since this exhibition presents the pages of his intimate sketchbooks as they are, once can read his architectural thought process, renowned for 'Beauty of Poverty'.

The 12 projects encompass not only architecture related to religion or death, but also include houses, community centers, and neighborhood facilities, allowing us to look into the architect's thoughts, who dream of spiritual enhancement in our everyday architecture.
